Does the home page resolve correctly in your browser? If it doesn't, which browser/version do you use, and on which platform?

No-drama newbie

not sure (and don't really care) what the "drama" was all about. I joined 'cause I DO NOT like the new "design". Let's put the orange ribbon as our main photo and spread the word - get people to join the tribe and make a point about getting the old layout back.

Does anyone know if they did any user testing on the new design? Any focus groups of current users? Seems clunky and confusing to me.

I WANT THE OLD LAYOUT back! I'm fine with whizzy buttons and all, but puhleezze....

This tribe is now moderated.

It was fast becoming a lightning rod for issues that had nothing to do with its purpose. People who had no interest in anything more than turning this into a soapbox have been removed from the membership.

If you are still here, understand what the tribe is about, which is simply a silent testimony to our desire to see changes in tribe.net take place in a positive way that takes the desires of the community into account.

If you would like to continue discussions relative to improving the tribe.net experience, please feel free to speak your mind. Otherwise, the drama is over.

Tribe members: please read this

I'm recommending that the members of this tribe join another, People for a Better Tribe.net (http://thisredesignsucks.tribe.net).

There's no point in letting my lack of popularity and credibility with a certain crowd affect the ability of tribe.net members to make a show of united solidarity in speaking out about the shortcomings of the changes in tribe.net's color scheme and structure. As two groups we lack stature. As one group, the combined numbers would be much more noticeable, and networking and invitations would increase its size geometrically.

It was suggested on People for a Better Tribe.net that they merge with us (http://www.tribe.net/tribe/servlet/template/pub%2Ctribes%2CViewThread.vm?threadid=ac04f23d-89bb-4688-8c0b-a82129dc08b4&tribeid=9ad2c0f6-fd9d-45e5-943c-c8c76eb08c98), but it was immediately shot down. It's kind of funny, since I was derided by certain folks for having started this tribe in the first place.

So please, since they won't come over here, go on over there, and make some really big numbers. I was happy to be an early catalyst, and I thank you who have joined up for showing your concern for tribe.net. It has a lot of potential, despite a few bugs and other assorted issues.

what if tribe gave us a choice to set our own home page? those who prefer the old design could return to that and everyone else could use the new one?

a list of things i HATE about the new design

1. i can no longer tell which tribes have new messages posted without drilling down to a whole separate page

2. once i get to that page, there is no longer a tier structure of which tribes have the most new posts being at the top, with those with no new posts alphabetized towards the bottom. now they are all straight up alphabetized.

3. there are no longer thumbnails of users in the listings section. before i could recognize a friend in a glance and hop right to their listing.

4. the thumbnails have been cropped "to save room for content" resulting in my photo and my friends photos looking completely screwy.

5. the separate content fields are not visually "called out" well enough, they blend together as one lump of text and links.

can you tell i have worked successfully as a ui designer? ;)
